The new Call of Duty, Black Ops Six, was released on October 25, 2024. Call of Duty has been a loved and hated franchise since its release in 2003 almost 22 years ago.
Throughout the 23 different games released and many different multiplayer modes, we have seen many different changes. This rendition of Black Ops has brought out the best of the Multiplayer mode. Multiplayer fans like myself loved the 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and four smaller Strike maps.
The classic three-lane map design is back, promising fast-paced action, and non-stop gunplay. Having three lanes makes every game mode exciting, and you rarely go more than fifteen seconds without running into an enemy player. Plus, the return of the Classic Prestige system lets players show off their skills across 10 prestige levels, this allows players to show their levels off similar to camos.
This Call of Duty has been well received by newer players like me, with its sleek, fast-paced, action-packed gameplay brought out by the latest, “Omni-Movement”, a system that allows you to jump, dive, and sprint, in every direction. This is greatly improving the movement in the game that players have been obsessed over in recent years, through their battle royale game Warzone.
The game is also great for veterans with the return of old maps like Nuketown in their original form, as well as plenty of game modes to choose from, and that well-loved toxicity in every game chat.
The usual addition of Camos in Black Ops Six makes it easier than ever before to get Dark Matter. For some this may be seen as a downside, however, I think it makes the game more enjoyable for people who don’t have as much time to level up every gun.
Each Gun has fewer challenges and requires less grinding to acquire gold. I have already seen people with dark matter less than a month after the game came out. For me, the Camo grind has been a lot of fun even for someone who wasn’t initially good at the game.
I have felt that the Headshot challenge gets repetitive, but it has still been super enjoyable and rewarding to get the new camos as I level up my guns, making their new system a total success.
Overall, Multiplayer mode has been a great time and felt amazing to play with friends. It doesn’t get boring fast and keeps itself new with the 12 different modes and 16 maps. I’ve been impressed with the playability compared to past games and the multiplayer mode’s addicting nature.
