Who will you be voting for in the upcoming election? The choice is clear. Although we live in a world where we have to pick between the lesser of two evils, Donald Trump stands out as the better option.
Why choose Trump over Kamala Harris? Safety should be the biggest concern for everyone in society. What good are rights when you or your loved ones are scared to even walk around their neighborhoods, scared to leave anything in their cars, or maybe even killed?
My feeling of safety decreased since Joe Biden and Harris took office. I visit San Francisco regularly and the city is headed in the wrong direction. According to The San Francisco Standard, car break-ins have risen by nearly 35% since Biden and Harris took office.
The reason behind this staggering number is low arrest rates. Yes, the crime rate has technically declined, but it is being done by legalizing crimes with no punishment. Car break-ins skyrocketed because there were no consequences for break-ins.
Harris had a say in Proposition 47, which reclassified shoplifting of items worth less than $950 as misdemeanors rather than felonies. Harris being elected will further contribute to forgiving criminals and creating even less safety in society.
Trump, meanwhile, “pledged to demolish drug cartels, crush gang violence, and restore safety in neighborhoods.” Will you vote for Trump and protect yourself and your family from criminals, or will you support Harris and let crime run rampant?
A key point in Harris’s campaign is the fight for equality. However, under Biden and Harris’s administration in the past four years, the view of equality has been distorted. Equality isn’t specifically hiring for a lesser-represented group of people and intentionally including them; equality is hiring anyone who is qualified for the job regardless of their background. Offering someone a job just because you need inclusion and not because of their skill sets is not equality; it is the exact opposite.
However, Trump is not the perfect candidate. Some criticize him for his stance on banning abortion. Even though Trump will give people less access to abortion, the need for abortions will drop because when society is safer and there are fewer rapes and crimes, the need for abortions will decrease. Safe sex practices are a better solution than abortion. Trump is solving the issue’s root while Harris is patching the surface with bandages and not looking at the cause.
Another issue that Trump avoids talking about is climate change. According to BBC, Trump will significantly increase the tariffs on imported products, which will increase the price of imported goods, one of which is gasoline cars. This will decrease the green premium of electric cars and make a smoother transition to electric vehicles since US-made EVs, like Tesla, are not being tariffed. At the end of the day, money is the best incentive for any change.
Ultimately, the most important topics to address in the coming years are safety, the economy’s rising prices, and the idea of the American dream. Harris will deteriorate the progress in those areas while Trump will work towards improving those topics.
